Release Notes firmware 2.5.4:
Fixes/Improvements:
• Fixed an issue with the 6.81 Z-Wave SDK that could cause some devices to not behave properly when S2
encryption was used (primarily Schlage door locks & Honeywell T6 thermostats)
• Improvements to an issue introduced in 2.5.3 where Liftmaster Garage Door control would not work properly
from the Panel UI. Complete fix will be introduced in 2.6.0. See TSB 201026 for additional detail: https://
dealers.qolsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/TSB-201026-Liftmaster-and-2.5.3.pdf
• Note: If Solar integration is needed from the Panel UI, then the Panel should stay on 2.5.3. If Liftmaster control is needed
from the Panel UI, then Panel should update to 2.5.4. Starting in 2.6.0, both Solar and Liftmaster integration will be
supported at the same time on the Panel UI
• Fixed an issue where the LED status light on the PowerG Smoke & Heat Detectors (PGx936, SMD-429, BWSMD) would not reset after an alarm if using Installer/Test Mode on the panel. See TSB 200921 for additional
detail: https://dealers.qolsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/TSB-200921-Installer-Walk-TestPowerG-Smokes.pdf
• Updated the PowerG radio FW to version 80.34. This improves communication, especially when using
multiple PowerG Wired to Wireless Translators
• 500 series Eaton Z-Wave switches are now supported (RF9601, RF9617, RF9640-N & RF9642-Z)
• Fix for PowerG Shock Sensor (PGx935, SD-304, BW-SHK) issue that occurred after 15 minute placement test
mode timeout. Additional improvement for false alarm reduction when shock sensors are paired as two
separate zones
• PowerG Keypads (WS9LCDWFx) can now sound for fire alarms generated in other Partitions when the Global
Fire setting is enabled
• PowerG Keypads (WS9LCDWFx) now display special characters on the LCD screen if used as part of a zone
description on the main panel
• Energy Optimizer now available locally on the Panel to configure Z-Wave thermostats and smart plugs so that
they reduce and shift on-peak energy usage to off-peak (Time-of-use electric rate plans)
• Note: The Energy Optimizer should not be used in conjunction with Alarm.com thermostat schedules and is not compatible
with “Give Back, Get Back” participation via Alarm.com
• Small improvements to contextual help videos as part of the Easy Install Wizard
• Small changes to support Canadian ULC-S304 – Level 1 (Residential) and Level II (Commercial) listings
• Added a new setting for ULC Commercial Power Restoration
• Increased Z-Wave 700 power level setting for EU Panels for better performance
• PowerG PIR CAMs (PGx934(P), NEXT CAM PG2, NEXT CAM K9-85 PG2, BW-IRC, BW-IPC, PGx944, TOWER
CAM PG2, BW-ODC) will take a picture on activation of Fire/CO alarm for EU Panels. Additionally, PIR CAMs
learned into Group 25 will also take pictures while the panel is armed
• When EN Grade 2 is Enabled, User Codes are hidden with “dots” instead of showing the actual code
